Information will appear when the mouse slides over the first and second pictures, but mouse-clicks on the images will not do anything.  White SPC numbers indicate Snail Grade pipes. Each square represents one inch.  The photos are not in scale from one pipe to another.

Earlier pipes

Made in 1999, bought unsmoked in Chicago, 2004.  The bamboo foot is similar to that on a cavalier in the 1962 Pibe Dan catalogue, so presumably this was a standard Danish shape when Tokutomi-san visited Sixten Ivarsson in the 1970's :

Cavalier with bamboo, 1999 (TKI)

Made in 1999, bought unsmoked in 2003.  The treatment of the bone shank is very reminiscent of Sixten Ivarsson:

Billiard with Sixten-influenced bone shank, 1999

TKI002

Made in 2000, bought unsmoked in Chicago, 2004.  An early prototype of a shape Tokutomi-san has developed a great deal in recent months.  Note the asymmetry of the ukulele-like "shank," which twists off the central axis as it sweeps back to the stem.  Another Tokutomi-hallmark:  the sides of the shank are irregular, like those found on the Ivarsson fish -- flat on one side and pointed on the other.

ABOUT THE PHOTOS:  To save time and to allow me to take pictures of newer pieces for the "Quick Catalogue", I have occasionally edited older photos from the main pipe pages and re-used them here.  Many of the initial images below are such transfers.  I hope to update these older images eventually, both here and in the Commemoration of Briars catalogue.
