Before these pictures become too surreal, I should explain that the Asakuza district of Tokyo, where the pipe-show took place, is home to a large population of Brazillian-Japanese ... and Samba Dancers have long been a part of the local culture. So not only did the music (LOUD!!) and the costumes have their roots in South American Carnival, the (45!) dancers were singing in ... Portuguese. ... Come to think of it, the pictures should evoke a surreal atmosphere. |
